If you've spent any time in Salida, you have seen Chris Nasca performing on stage.
If you have a instrument with strings, you've probably been in his Broken String Guitars shop on F Street.
Chris will be sharing the couch at The LOBBY's September 2026 Fireside Chat to tell us more about his time in Salida and his view of the changing faces and spaces of Salida in that time.
Chris Nasca plays acoustic traditional roots, original, & blues for the faces in the crowd in Salida on stages big and small. Combining, jam, funk and his own unique blend of storytelling to bring audiences original, groove & traditional roots covers. His influences run the gamut and range from Peter Wowan, Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, The Meters, and the Grateful Dead. A guitarist & vocalist, he moved from the Deep South ( North Carolina / Alabama) to Colorado in 1993. And made his way to Salida in 1996. He has had the opportunity to be a part of several local and talented blues, rock, folk, country & psychedelic groups: The Critters, Lil' Missouri, Rio, The Fractures (*CD released Sept of 2008), Little Ernie & The Big Thang, Your Surrogate Cousin (YSC), and Alley Dust. He is the main musical director for the Salida’s Next Last Waltz (a tribute to “The Band”) and shared stages with The Radiators, Karl Denson Trio, Blackfoot, Andres Osborne Group, Rapidgrass, & many more. his current main project is Roundhouse Assembly, a Grateful Dead tribute band & the S-Town Allstars.
